Chairman's Speech

I am privileged to express this welcome message on behalf of the Board of Directors to introduce Birbhum District Central Cooperative Bank Ltd.  to all of you. Since 1962, our Bank had been providing its services for the people of Birbhum District. This Bank had 4(four) branches at the time of beginning and had become a leading bank in the district in due course of time with 13(thirteen) more Branches including 2(two) evening Branches.

But due to the mismanagement by the then undemocratic management, the transactions of the Bank were postponed for 17 Months on and from 14-05-2014, at that time the CRAR of the Bank was (-)49.40. However, we started our journey again on & from 01-10-2015and our Bank attained its glory gradually and received license from RBI on 12^th September 2016, through effortless hard work of its employees and Board of Directors. At present this Bank accumulates its Working Capital of Rs. 365.83 crore & has a Deposit of Rs. 245.00 Crore, earned an operating profit of Rs. 11.14 Crore & CRAR of the Bank stands as 12.63% as on 31/03/2020.

The Bank is now providing services through its 15(fifteen) branches in the district of Birbhum. We are dedicating our services for the socio-economic development of rural masses by providing loans and financial assistance under various schemes and for uplifting living condition of rural poor, especially of farmers, members of Self Helf Groups. Amongst its various priorities, the Bank focuses mainly on lending to Farmers, JLGs, SHGs and it has proved its excellence by issuing RuPay Kisan Credit Cards to individual farmers, RuPay Debit Card & CTS cheque facilities to the Individuals, by providing skill development training, credit linkage for self-help groups for their socio-economic upliftment. Our Bank is also a pioneer in Agriculture lending in the district & our bank unlike other banks utilises its resources amongst the people of Birbhum District and we are socially committed towards all-round development of the district.

In this auspicious occasion, I like to thank the dedicated staffs of the bank, employees & management of all type of Co-operative societies of the District, Government Officials of Bank, Board of Directors of the bank, District Administration, Police Administration, Co-operation Department, People’s representative in every tier as their constant help had made the bank possible to uphold its position & cater the aspiration of the people of the district.
